After Norman was kidnapped, he was kept in a hot box in the woods around the compound. Nick informed Norma that he wanted her to arrange a meeting between him and Dylan or else Norman would be harmed. (The Box)
When Dylan confronted Nick for information about Norman's whereabouts, he accidentally killed Nick by slashing him across the face with a fire poker. Panicking, he ran to get help and found Romero, who returned to the compound with him. Romero told Dylan to wait outside as he drew his gun and went inside. Going upstairs, he found Nick's man, Ben, in his office emptying the contents of the safe. (The Immutable Truth)
