|Home:||White Pine Bay, Oregon|
Dr. Fumhiro Kurata is a therapist in the town of White Pine Bay.
Dr. Kurata attempted to question Norman, asking him how if felt to lose his father and to move to White Pine Bay, but she interrupted each time. When she paid the consultation fee and said that she would schedule something for the future, Dr. Kurata asked to speak to her alone, so Norma told Norman to wait outside. Dr. Kurata said it would probably be helpful if he saw Norman on his own during the next visit and suggested that Norma was in need of some therapy of her own, based of her need to control everything. Angry, Norma said she felt extremely in control of her life and left. (A Boy and His Dog)
Norma visited him for some advice on how to handle stress. When Dr. Kurata pressed her to discuss what kind of stress she was under, she got a little cagey. She replied that it was normal stuff like life and then he asked if it was to do with Norman, but she told him that Norman was a good boy. Dr. Kurata said he wasn't quite a boy and Norma responded that he was getting bigger. He then questioned her about her own childhood, asking if she remembered anything about it. She said that her father was very kind and that her mother worked in a bakery, but when asked if she had any siblings, she said that she was an only child and excused herself as she said she wasn't feeling well.
