The show was announced in late February 2014. It was announced to be hosted by Carrie Keagan with it airing directly after Those Who Kill on Monday nights on A&E.
It began on March 3, 2014, the same night as the Season 2 premiere. The first episode was 30 minutes long with commercials. However, the second episode, which aired after the Season 2 finale, lasted for two hours and was hosted by Dave Holmes.
In April 2015, Carlton Cuse said on Twitter that there might be another After Hours special during Season 4. However, this never happened.
